This past Sunday we had a special time in our service to focus on our Hope Christmas Project. We have two main aspects of how our Christmas Project is bringing hope this year:

1) Bringing Hope to Kenya through the House of Hope Orphanage and by supporting Ben & Esther Berry, journeyers now serving in Kenya.

2) Bringing Hope by starting Churches in West Michigan with Converge, in San Francisco with Verve Church & Splagna and in India.

GIVE DAY
This past Sunday we took time to write out prayers of hope for the kids in those areas, for the people we're supporting for them our gifts to bring hope. We also tried to get a good jump start to this project. We are trying to raise $25,000 for these 5 aspects of bringing hope and 100% of funds are given away to bring hope. Here's one thing to consider: as you make plans for Black Friday or buy a big turkey for Thanksgiving, there are parents in India selling their kids into slavery for a big bag of rice. That's not okay with me. When I think about that, it seems like "what could we possibly do?" By ourselves, it feels like not much, but together we can make a bigger difference. We might not be able to fix it all, but we can bring hope to many people when we team together in this Hope Christmas Project. So please consider your part and plan to spend less so you can give more. Instead of those extra gifts your kids don't really need, instead of the sweater your dad probably won't wear, instead of going out to eat a few times, consider giving more. If you do, I think you'll actually get more of the holidays.

Thanks to everyone who gave already. If you still want to give, you can give at church until December 6 and anytime online here

THE BERRY FAMILY
Ben and Esther moved from Muskegon to Kenya this spring to serve and make an impact in Africia. (You can see their story here). We had an update from them (see video above) and Esther also posted this on facebook on Sunday while watching the service online:

Praying with all of you this morning as you have your Big Give Sunday for the Hope Christmas Project. We are so privileged to be here representing the Journey in Kenya. We witnessed three students get baptized at our morning service today and that is what we are really here to do, help people to grow in their relationship with Christ and then continue to go into all the world and reach others! Thank you for being a part of that!!!
