I'm hijacking Matt's Monday Motivation today!  Don't tell him.  Lets just keep it between you and me.

Yesterday at The Journey we began a brand new series, The Shadow.   In this series we're looking at some of the accounts from the Old Testamant, written hundreds of years before Jesus, and how they all tell one compelling story and point toward this one compelling figure - Jesus.

But, if we're honest, many of these accounts are difficult, confusing, or challenge our thoughts about God and the world we live in.  But, what if?  What if there is more to the story than what we understand?  What if God is doing things that we don't see or can't fully comprehend?  What if God is big enough to work outside of the natural laws of this universe, or to have a greater sense of good and morality that we can't fully grasp?

We get so wrapped up in our little world (which seems big to us & feels big to us), that we don't really come to grips with the idea that we are a part of something so much bigger.  That the pages of our life are just a piece of a grander story that is taking place.  And in that grander story, there is simply one main character (hint:  it's not you or me):  Jesus.

On Sunday we also talked about the larger themes of the Bible:  Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration.  If you're interested in studying more about that, here's a 16 day devotional (short study from the Bible & prayer) about those themes, right here!

The Shadow of Jesus extends all the way back to creation, but it also reaches all the way into our lives.  You are a part of a bigger story!  Lets live like it.  Lets live in light of it.  Lets take our place in the story as we live in the shadow of Jesus.  How should living in His shadow affect how you live this week?  What if?
