We've been talking about finding the masterpiece beyond the mud in our MESS OF ME series. We often try to hide our mud or manage the mud in our lives. The problem is that it usually just ends up smeared all over our lives. We try harder or try to be better, but we end up with the same struggle in the same mess.  We try to earn our worth by finding our identity in what we do. But Jesus already knows our mess and he loves us anyways. He is more concerned with our hearts & our relationship with him than the mess in our lives. We can even end up trying to earn God's love when we try to manage the mud. But we can't earn our worth; it's not about our works or what we do. We are created in His image and it's only through faith in this relationship with Him that we can find the masterpiece beyond the mud. (Eph. 2:8-10)

This  thought from Isaiah 64 can be a simple prayer to keep life focused:
GOD YOU ARE THE POTTER. I AM THE CLAY.

Praying this prayer is like saying: take the muddy, mess of my life and make something beautiful or something with purpose out of my life. I can't do it. I want you to mold me. It's not about me trying to be good. It's about You forming who I am becoming. It's a heart change out of a relationship. This changes our perspective from trying to be good and earn our worth to letting God change our hearts. When we shift how we see our life, it begans to form who we are becoming. When we change on the inside, those good things we want to do become more natural and purposeful.

CHALLENGE THIS WEEK: Begin each day with this simple prayer and begin to shift your perspective.
