BLOG: INFO & INSIGHTS

We are writing with an update in light of the recent and ongoing developments in regard to the  Coronavirus spreading in our country.  After talking with local health officials, we are choosing to follow their guidelines and the recommendations issued by our State Government.  We will be temporarily hosting services online only and there will be no large services at our facilities on Sundays.

Our Leadership Team is closely monitoring this evolving situation, but rest assured we will do all we can to provide a safe environment for our church family, our community, and to be good citizens in our county and state.  We believe suspending services is the wisest measure at this time and will allow us to be good neighbors in our community and to make sure that we are caring for and protecting the most vulnerable in our church, families and community.

ONLINE SERVICES ONLY
We want to encourage you to join us for services online at our normal times of 9:30 and 11:00 am.  We will have additional resources online as we go through these weeks including kids videos & parent resources. We are planning to host online only services for the rest of March and we will evaluate after that point on a week-to-week basis.  Please know that when you return to our physical locations, we will have taken all precautions to provide a clean and safe environment for all our Journey family from our very youngest to our oldest. We will look forward to when we can be back together again, worshipping together in person.

FAITH OVER FEAR
We want to be people who live with faith not fear.  2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”.  We are called not to fear or panic but to faith and trust.  God is with us and your Journey Leadership team is not fearful but trusting that God is in control.  The second part of 2 Timothy 1:7 says that we have a “spirit” of a sound mind and of love and we want to use that wisdom and love to make good decisions that elevates our care for you and our community.  This virus is a real issue for many people with compromised immune systems and for our older family and friends.  This is an opportunity for us to share hope and spread kindness in our community in unique ways. What more loving thing can we do than disrupt our routine in ways we don’t necessarily want to for the sake of these friends?  What better way to show God’s concern and love for our community, not because we have to but because we choose to?

We’ve faced challenging and tough situations before as a church, as a community and as a nation and we’ve always risen to the challenge.  We will do that now & show the love of Jesus through our care, service and love.  As we trust God and lean into His care for us, our anxiety can go down even as we live in this uncertainty. Let’s live wisely, live with love, and trust God.

We love you and look forward to seeing you soon.  In the meantime, know that we are here to serve, to care, to spiritually encourage and to continue leading us all closer to Jesus.  We’re praying for you.  We’ll keep you updated as this all unfolds in the coming weeks.
