Summer has been fun so far at The Journey with all kinds of great things happening!
LAST WEEK
SERIES: We wrapped up our series, King of the Castle & Rise Above the Chaos. They flipped between our two sites in May and June. If you missed any of them, want to review a week, share the message or look at the reflection questions, check out the Series Archive page.
SAYING GOOD-BYE TO BEN AND ESTHER. COMMISSIONED TO KENYA.
This past Sunday, we had a special service for the Berry Family. They are leaving this week to move to Kenya to make an impact half way around the world. They will be serving in a school, reaching out to the local community and they are not far from the House of Hope so they can continue to make an impact there. Ben shared some cool things at the service that God was doing in their lives. He shared some of the steps to get to this point:
1) Saying "yes" to God. This was from a message Paul shared years ago.
2) Esther going on the Kenya trip 4 years ago.
3) A person focus and waiting on God to guide them as they lived out the mission everyday.
We prayed for them and it was a really cool moment to have 5 generations up front as parents and grandparent prayed for them. It was sorrowful with goodbye's but also exciting with great anticipation to see what God will do in & through them to make a difference in Kenya. (see more of their story here).
NORTON SHORES NETWORK: FOOD TRUCK
The Norton Shores Network was able to provide food to local people in need this past weekend. Russ & Darla Crouse and the Norton Shores Network organize a special yard sale every fall where all the funds go to food trucks. They raise enough this year to purchase two food trucks. This past weekend was the 2nd truck and the team distributed food for people in need. It was an awesome team event that makes a big impact!

The Love Can series is coming back with a special summer edition. There will be new summer Random Acts of Kindness, a new series, and a report from the Kenya Team!
NETWORK ICE CREAM EVENT
Every Network is hosting an ice cream event at 7:00 pm on Sunday Night July 19. Mark your calendars!
