So, my credit card number got stolen again.  It's the third time in the last year.  I don't know if you've had someone try and steal your identity.   I was talking with someone recently and they were sharing about all the things they needed to cancel and change and re-do because someone tried to become them in cyber-world.

The truth is that we all have people that try and steal our identity, and often we begin to believe we're someone else.

Throughout my life I've struggled with that.  What other people thought or said, a need to achieve, or prove something, or to be liked.

We talked a little bit about that last Sunday in the last week of our series Finding Your Way Back to God.  You can watch the message HERE.  To find your way back to God you need to live in your true identity.  People will tell you lots of things about who you are and we can often begin to believe them.  Maybe even our parents, or how we grew up, shape how we see ourselves and how we function in life.

But, what really matters is what God says about us.  When we're in a relationship with Jesus, the Bible says that we are not condemned, that we are his children, that we are free, forgiven, loved.  We are not our past mistakes.  We are not what we achieve.  We are not what others think of us.  We are who God says we are.

So, this week . . . remind yourself that you have nothing to prove and no one to impress.  Really.  I've been repeating that all week long.

God could not love you any more or any less than He already does.  Do you know that?

P.S.  This week we begin a brand new series:  God Never Said That!  Check it out, invite a friend.  It's going to be a great series!!
